It was Organized in 1885.

It was named for Ezra B. Eddy, a Fargo, North Dakota banker who had died a few weeks earlier.

Eddy County Criminal Records

Eddy County records their criminal activity in the form of criminal records. These records cover murders, rapes, burglaries, arson, motor vehicle theft, assaults, and crimes of a sexual nature. In Eddy County, records of criminals are constantly up to date. In order to get access to the records in question, Eddy County residents can use a search tool. Any individual on release or in jail can be searched for using the tool. Eddy County keeps a current register of all local sex offenders. These consist of any offender living, attending school, working, or imprisoned in the Eddy County area. This register is made available to all citizens of Eddy County.

Residents living in Eddy County can use the tool to search for any offenders in the area. A resident must simply enter a zip code to act as the center of their search. All offenders within those coordinates will then be revealed to the Eddy County resident. People may also use the tool to search for specific offenders. Eddy County Public Records

NOTE - If a requester wants to obtain records face-to-face, they must adhere to several rules in Eddy County. The office is open between 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m and 12:30 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. CST from Monday to Friday. In Eddy County, some form of photo ID is needed to get records. Examples consist of state IDs or driver's licenses. A requester must also put their public record requests in writing in Eddy County.
