It was created in 1873 and Organized in 1881.

It was named for Judson LaMoure, a member of the territorial/state legislature from 1872 to 1918.

LaMoure County Public Records

Every last resident in the state of North Dakota has vital records kept on them. All important life events are noted in these records. Then again, to obtain a record copy, requesters must also pay a fee. Birth records in LaMoure County cost $7 for the first copy. Death certificates in LaMoure County will set a person back $7 for a first copy.

NOTE - In order to acquire records, LaMoure County requesters must adhere to several rules. The office is open between 8:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m and 1:00 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. CST from Monday to Friday. In LaMoure County, some form of photo ID is needed to get records. Photo ID could be a driver's license or state ID. Only public record applications put in writing will be accepted in LaMoure County.
